Originally created by the German army, the Panzerfaust-3 (literally: tank fist-3) is a modern disposable recoilless anti-tank weapon. The JSDF licensed its own model called the IHI Aerospace 110 mm LAM.

The weapon fires a 110mm high explosive anti-tank (HEAT) warhead that is capable of defeating heavy armour of tanks, making it effective in combating tough foes like the Flame Dragon.

History and Development[]

The Panzerfaust 3 was developed between 1978 and 1985 and put into service by the Bundeswehr in 1992, replacing West Germany's aging PzF 44 (also called LanzeLeichte Panzerfaust, or Panzerfaust 2) and the heavy Carl Gustaf recoilless rifle manufactured in Sweden. Its name dates back to the Panzerfaust used by the German armed forces in the Second World War.

The Panzerfaust 3 was designed to defeat the Soviet T-72 and T-80 main battle tanks as previous antitank weapons ,PzF 44 and Carl Gustaf, were unable to penetrate armor of these tanks. The initial name of this weapon was Panzerfaust 60/110. Initial prototypes of the Panzerfaust 3 were completed in 1979 and first tests were completed in 1980. Development was completed in 1985. Low rate production began after the trials in 1987 [1] [2]

In the Story[]

The Panzerfaust 3 was seen in action for the first time during the Flame Dragon's Attack on the Coda Convoy. Witnessed that even .50 BMG cartridge, fired from M2 Browning Machine Gun, still couldn't penetrate the Flame Dragon's thick scales, Itami Yōji, Commander of the Third Recon team, ordered Wataru Katsumoto to fire a Panzerfaust-3 at the dragon. Thanks to the assistance from the apostle, Rory Mercury, the rocket hit one of the dragon's arms, blowing it off, and forced the Flame Dragon to flee the area.

In order to kill the Flame Dragon which was presently residing in the Schwarz Forest, Itami prepared ten Panzerfaust-3s along with a large amount of C-4 and other weapons before traveled towards the lands of the dark elves. During the engagement, All ten rocket are expended, but Itami and dark elvish warriors could only injure the dragon instead of killing it. The reason was the rocket either being set to high explosive mode before firing, hitting the dragon on its thickly armored flank or missing their target. The Flame dragon was later killed from the explosion of C-4s rigged in the center of the nest.
